do the symbols next certain folders mean anything, lately i have noticed icons like buring folders and stuff next to particular threads and others with pics like folders with locks on them, if this has a meaning, could u please tell me. p.s. i do suspect that a folder with a lock on it can not be posted in anymore

"Thread" Icon. All threads get this Icon initially, this picture is the ordinary file. "Hot Thread" Icon. This means that a thread has several posts to it, and is considered to be a popular thread. A thread will get this icon after 25 posts. this picture is the mildly burning folder [yellow flame]. "Very Hot" Thread. This means that a thread has many posts, and is a really popular thread. A thread will get this Icon after 100 posts. this picture is the fully alight folder [red folder on fire]. As you suspected, a folder with a lock on it is a 'locked thread'. what a suprise . Ryan makes these whenever a thread has gone silly or inactive or if he feels like it. You can reply to these if you are a Staff Member. A folder with a pin on it means its a 'Sticky folder' and always remains at the top, disobeying the usual order of date and time.

to my knowledge a burning folder denotes that the topic is 'hot' meaning that it has been viewed and been posted in a lot.
a lock icon does mean that the topic is locked, and i think a pin icon meand that it usuall contains something important and has been 'pinned' by the moderators, meaning it cannot move from that spot.
Looks like somebody else beat me to it. Bugger
