Hehe, I wonder from what supporter perspective this was written? Seriously, some of those points are ridiculous, and most are ironically pointless. This is a reverse story of the Ps2 vs Xbox situation. The PS3 comes out after tghe 360, so it will overall most likely be a better console. When the Xbox launched after the PS2, it has heaps of stuff that made it superior to the PS2 because it had come out later down the track, allowing more time for additional innovation, development, and so on. The Xbox is better than the PS2 becuae of this fact, and because of this same fact it is likely that the PS3 will be a better console than that of the 360. But so what, if the writer hopes to drag people away from the 360 on it's release date, good bloody luck Dropkick. How about this: One reason to get a 360, and the only reason necessary: It's out right bloody now, the PS3 is a long way from the starting gates!Game, set and match...

See, look - Nintendo are also having their own sissy little, cheap shot at the 360: cube.ign.com/articles/670/670078p1.htmlSo every 360 potential-owner should wait and but a PS3 and Revolution, eh? ^that's a 'sarcasm' smiley

I think the artilcle is more about giving PS3 fans a small lift while they wait for their own system to come out. Anyone who plans on getting a 360 at launch won't change their minds, these people are hard core gamers.
You could make the case that the article is about detering future sales, but so what? It's a PS3 site, are they suppose to say good stuff about the 360? Would you be so ticked if a similar article took shots at the PS3 on the XBox site? I wouldn't.

The arguments in both articles pose the idea that the REvolution and PS3 will be better consoles, and lists several reasons, most being technical. However, when an Xbox fan, or anyone for that matter, tries to explain that the Xbox is a better console because of various technicalities, PS2 and 'Cube fanboys covers their ears and shout "lalalalalala". It's ridiculous that they won't listen to the argument for the Xbox, but then use an argument of the exact same nature to discredit the power and playability of the 360... That is what annoys me. One-sided arrogance and blindness on the part of stubborn fools who would rather kiss a toilet seat than admit that in the current gen the Xbox rules over their consoles...

But you see, the XBox has the advantage in every area over the PS2 except for 1 thing: games. A lot of people feel the PS2 has more and better games than the XBox, giving it the true edge over Microsoft.
All about games for me, my friend.

The PS2 has far more games, but many of these games are rubbish. A huge contingent of the crappy Xbox games are, in fact, multi-platform ones. Many of the quality Xbox games are nowhere to be found on the PS2... And yes, it is about the games. Which makes the 360 the best, because it's out right now, so it's game are - unlike the competition - playable right now (not in Australia though, goddam it!)

I think the artilcle is more about giving PS3 fans a small lift while they wait for their own system to come out. If the article is just a cheerleading exercise then why is its overall tone aimed at convincing those considering a 360 that the PS3 is better. PS fans already know that, or believe that, so the only possible target audience must be those leaning towards the 360 for a next-gen fix. And you're wrong King Spikeaji, the only thing that the PS 2 beats Xbox, or 3 beats 360, in is this: HYPE. If you don't believe me just read some of those comments by Sony employees. For eg. the PS3 is not a games console but an entertainment system designed to replace all others in your house (or something like that), or the PS3 will have 1% the processing power of the human brain. Oh, and what you are saying is not that the PS 2 beats the Xbox at games but rather variety of games. Game quality is completely different and is subjective and deceptive, so don't fall back on that argument.

I don't care what Sony employee's say, I don't care about the hype or any of that other crap. I play my PS2 way more than my XBox, that is a fact. I'm smart enough to pick out good games from the rubbish games that haven't popped up on the XBox, or took more than 6 months to be released on the XBox.
As far as the article goes, I still have to disagree. I feel the tone and purpose is for the people who already decided not to get a 360 who may be a little jealous because it isn't their day in the sun yet. I know I felt a little down watching XBox 360 coverage.
And honestly, if the article was meant to keep people on the fence from buying a 360, don't you think the article could have come up with much better reasons? The reasons they gave kinda sucked, imo.
